F.A.Q

WHAT IS TEETH WHITENING?

Teeth whitening is a cosmetic dental procedure that uses various techniques to remove stains and discoloration from teeth, resulting in a brighter and whiter smile.

HOW DOES TEETH WHITENING WORK?

Teeth whitening typically involves the use of hydrogen peroxide or carbamide peroxide gels, which break down stains on the tooth’s surface. This process can be done in-office or at home with over-the-counter products.

IS TEETH WHITENING SAFE?

Teeth whitening is generally safe when performed by a trained professional or following the manufacturer’s instructions for at-home kits. However, it may cause temporary tooth sensitivity or gum irritation.  Our whitening gel contains vegan active ingredients which facilitate opening the pores on your teeth and lift stains. Follow aftercare instructions for maintenance and ease of any discomfort.

HOW LONG DOES TEETH WHITENING LAST?

The longevity of teeth whitening results varies depending on factors like diet and oral hygiene. Typically, results can last about 6 months or longer provided your diet does not consist of dark staining agents. Touch up appointments are always encouraged should you wish to keep your pearly whites.

WHAT ARE THE PROS OF TEETH WHITENING?

– Improved appearance and confidence.

– Non-invasive cosmetic enhancement.

– Can be tailored to individual preferences.

WHAT IF I HAVE MY COURSE ALREADY DONE? IS THIS STRATEGY FOR ME?

– Temporary tooth sensitivity.

– Potential gum irritation.

– Results may not be permanent.

– Whitening may not work on all types of stains.

WHO IS A GOOD CANDIDATE FOR TEETH WHITENING?

Most people with healthy teeth and gums can consider teeth whitening. We will add, that any individual who has visible plaque will NOT be a good candidate for teeth whitening ONLY after a good teeth cleaning. However, it’s essential to consult with a dentist to determine suitability and discuss options.

HOW DOES THE PROCESS WORK?

The process is simple and effective in just one appointment. Our self-administered process insures your safety first and facilitates obtaining your best results. Beginning with coating your gums with a pure Vitamin E oil to reduce sensitivity, followed by using a plant-based gel solution,  and incorporating an accelerated LED blue light. The LED blue light accelerates and activates the whitening process. Your first visit will take 45 minutes and it will be broken down into 15 minute intervals.

CAN TEETH WHITENING DAMAGE TEETH?

When performed correctly, teeth whitening should not damage your teeth. However, overuse or misuse of whitening products can harm enamel. It’s crucial to follow guidelines and recommendations.

HOW MANY SHADES WHITER CAN MY TEETH GET?

This varies with every individual. It has been our experience that we see improvements of 2 to 8 shades whiter. Lifestyle, genetics, and overall health maintenance of your teeth is a big factor on your results. We also carry the best at home whitening products that you can use to maintain your white smile.

WHAT IF I HAVE SENSITIVE TEETH?

Our clients experience little to no sensitivity during or after their sessions. However if you feel that your teeth are very sensitive, we recommend using remineralizing gel to help ease any sensitivity. Take notice that during the whitening process your teeth undergo dehydration temporarily, which reduces their ability to insulate the nerves from changes in temperature. Your teeth will naturally re-hydrate 24 to 48 hours after teeth whitening. We recommend drinking plenty of water, and a post-whitening fluoride treatment to nourish the teeth, help strengthen your enamel and promote rehydration, ask us if this is something that concerns you.
